APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN
Our next beginner school will commence January 2020.
To be part of the upcoming school, all applicants MUST participate in a group interview which will be held at Waverley Basketball Stadium. Unfortunately, no exceptions will be considered for those that cannot attend the group interview. A parent or guardian will be required to attend the first 10 minutes of the meeting so they can be informed about requirements of becoming a referee at Waverley.
The group interview will be held 1pm - 3pm on Sunday 8th of December 2019.
If successful in the selection process, theory sessions will be;
Tuesday 21st January
Tuesday 28th January
Tuesday 4th February
Tuesday 11th February
Sessions will run 6pm - 8pm and attendance at all 4 sessions is a requirement of the course. If you are unable to attend any of these sessions, please do not register for this school and await further opportunities later in the year.
IMPORTANT - Current referee vacancies at Waverley change frequently so be aware that your first preference may not be available. Once you become a referee, you are required to attend a shift from start to end which may involve finishes at 11pm mid week or 8pm weekends .
During the interview, you will be assessed against other candidates for the school with attention being paid to confidence, professionalism and general knowledge. Please note if you do not attend the group interview you will not be considered for the upcoming school.
Course fee is $90 which includes your VBRA registration fees, your whistle and lanyard, course content and your training shirt.
NOTE: You must be 14 years of age as at 21st January 2020 to be eligible for the school
